Speaking of UK book covers…

Look what I discovered! The UK & NZ edition of The Splendor Falls has a new cover. Has anyone seen this in the wild? (It actually looks like Sylvie. Maybe a little young. But I like the scrolly things and the green background really goes with the story.)

  1. Yea, thats gorgeous. She may look young on that cover, but at least she isn't actually that young in the book. Ive always liked that your characters are on the older side of 'young adult.' I feel like there's this gap where people who are 19-24 are never personified in books. Its either 16/17 yr olds twitter-pated in love or 29 yr olds freaking out because their almost 30 and still not married.

  2. Breanna– Word. I like writing characters in that "gap." Young Adult should cover more than 'teens.' Not that there is anything wrong with twitterpated 16 year olds, but I didn't want to read about them when I was 18 (or 19, or 21). And when I was 21, I didn't want to read about 30 year olds wanting to get married and start a family. *shrug*Have you read Jennifer Echols or Caridad Ferrer? They both write about slightly older YA characters. (Seniors or post High School.)

  3. I got that cover when I ordered the book online here in Sweden. I like it and I'm looking forward to read the book. I really love your Maggie Quinn books so I'm curious about this one. 🙂

  4. @Therese— I hope you enjoy it! It's a little different from the Maggie books (It's kind of a slow build), but it's still "me." :-DI think I may have to order from Amazon UK to complete my collection.
