  4. Would you mind sharing strategies with me. I’m a bit of a writer in training, hoping to publish books in the near future and it would be amazing if you could help. I really admire the way you write because you don’t have any Mary-Sue characters as most stories do (and to be honest I think we all had that one school “Jessica”). 🙂

    1. Samantha, you’re a doll. If you go to the blog and click on the tag “writing” or “writing tips” it should pull up the previous posts I’ve made on craft, writing, all that. But you have definitely reminded me that it’s been too long since I’ve written one of those. I will do one soon! (I love to write about writing.)

PS Yes. We all had at least one “Jessica” at our school, not matter what her name was/is.

  5. Hi, are you ever going to do a sequel or prequel to “the splendour falls” because I love that book and can not stop re-reading it

    1. Hi Hannah! Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed TSF so much. 🙂 To answer your question… Sort of, maybe. I have a lot of other things in the works first, and I think you’ll enjoy them if you like “Splendor.” Until I (maybe) write what happens to Sylvie next, everyone is free to imagine for themselves, and that’s kind of fun, too. 🙂

    1. Hi Frances! You are awesome for stopping by to leave a comment. I love to hear that someone has connected with books. And you are reading them in the right order. It goes Prom Dates from Hell, Hell week (which are collected in Brimstone) and then Highway to Hell.

Absolutely I will keep writing. I’m busy on the next book right now!

  7. Hi Rosemary! I love your books. Your writing style is how I imagine mine would be if I could ever get passed the idea stage that is. Very important question now: Is there any more books with the Goodnight’s planned for the future??? I just love those crazy Goodnight’s! I’m about to start The Splendor Falls and can’t wait to read it. Thank you for telling us your brilliant stories and for writing some amazing characters with the best chemistry ever! 🙂

    1. Thank you for commenting! To answer your question, I have a couple of other things on the docket first, and then who knows. (However, I’ll tell you a secret. I like to connect my books in not-obvious ways. So you never know who is going to turn up.)

And the best compliment is, “This is how I imagine my storytelling voice to be.” Those are the books that I loved (love) the best. Make sure you put all your ideas on paper so that when you do get around to the writing part, you have lots of things to choose from. (That’s how both Texas Gothic and The Splendor Falls happened. TxG was an idea I had in high school.)

      1. Thank you so much for responding. Thanks for sharing the secret! I’ll be on the look out for the connections. 🙂

That’s exactly what I do, I have loads of ideas randomly written down. Hopefully some day I can develop at least one of them into a book that is loved as much as yours.

        Thank you again for responding,
        Lindsey 🙂
